About Us

In 1991 Rayik Ghukasyan was elected the first President of Volleyball Federation of Armenia (1991-1998).

Armenia became a member of European and World Volleyball Federations.

In 1992 the Women’s Team “Oazis” from Ejmiatsin and men’s team “Nairi” from Yerevan became the first champions of the independent Armenia.

Armenian Men’s team took part in an international tournament in Iran.

In 1994 Armenian Women’s team participated in European selective tournament.

In 1995 the Men’s team from Armavir became the champion of RA for the first time.

In 1996 Women’s team from Yerevan became the champion in Navasard Games held in Artik.

In 1998 Robert Janibekyan was elected President of the Volleyball Federation of Armenia during the conference of RA Volleyball Federation.

In 1999 Pan-Armenian Games are held in Armenia. In the Volleyball Tournament  the Women’s team from Yerevan (coach Kh. Asmaryan) and the Men’s team from Yerevan (coach R. Sultanyan) became the winners.

In 2000 for the first time the team from Artik became RA Women’s champion.

In 2001 the winners again were the Women’s team from Yerevan (coach Kh. Asmaryan) and Men’s team from Yerevan (coach R. Janibekyan).

The Women’s “Nzdeh” team from Yerevan Medical Collage became the winner of an international tournament called “Tavriz 2011”

In 2002 the Women’s team from Sisian became the RA winner for the first time.

In 2003 Khachik Asmaryan became the President of RA Volleyball Federation.

In the 3rd Pan-Armenian Games the winners were the Women’s team from Istanbul and the Men’s team from Yerevan (coach A. Khachatryan). The team from Sisian were the second one.

In 2004 the best volleyball players were Norayr Shahbazyan and Nina Muradyan, the best coach became Robert Zagaryan and the best referee was Sergey Arakchyan.

In 2007 during the 4th Pan-Armenian Games the winners became the Men’s tema from Yerevan (coach K. Asmaryan) and the women’s team from Yerevan (coach Kh. Asmaryan).

In 2009 RA Volleyball Champion title was achieved by the team “Nzdeh” from Yerevan Medical Collage.

In 2010 Karen Asmaryan was elected acting officer of the President of Volleyball Federation of Armenia. On October, 2010 Suren Khachatryan the regional governor of Syunik was elected the President of the Volleyball Federation of Armenia.

In 2011 Men’s team from Yerevan (coach K. Asmaryan) became the champion of the 5th Pan-Armenian Games. In 2013 FIMA Men’s team became eight times champion.

On Oct. 29,  2013  Arthur Baghdasrayan was elected the President of the Volleyball Federation of Armenia.

On Sep. 21,  2017  Hrachya Muradyan was elected the President of the Volleyball Federation of Armenia.
